As a alternative wedding photographer, I was really looking
forward to photograph my first same sex wedding, variety is the spice of life, isn’t it?!
We were melodiously welcomed in the ceremony room by two cello players which definitely set the tone for the emotional celebration ahead. Despite a bit of translating for the parents, the tears of joy in the men’s eyes were pretty self explanatory. After their civil ceremony in Lambeth Town Hall, David and Marco held there intimate wedding celebration at The Department Store, a very chic and elegant members club nestled in the centre of the busy Brixton.
David is Spanish and Marco is Brazilian and their love story is one that shows how love has no frontiers. This multi-cultural gay wedding
was one of the most moving celebration of love I have photographed. There was so many tears of joy from them, explaining how they were growing up, thinking that this day would always be an inconceivable dream.
Levina & Rodrigo are not the type of couple who spend a whole year preparing their wedding day, they asked me to be their wedding photographer less than three weeks before their wedding!
We decided to meet the following week for a pre wedding shoot. I enjoy meeting my couples for before their big day, it allows us to get to know each other a little and the couple is much more comfortable in front of the camera on their wedding day.
Levina and Rodrigo are that kind of couple who make you feel welcome as you as they you see them. They are down to earth, relaxed, fun, open-minded… the list goes on. We had our rendez-vous in Shoreditch on a sunny Saturday morning and it felt more like 3 friends strolling and absorbing the the quirky Shoreditch vibe than a pre wedding shoot. Their love was so inspiring I could have photographed them the whole day! Unfortunately they had to go and collect their wedding rings…

As an alternative wedding photographer, I am lucking enough to meet a wide variety of couples.
It is not everyday that you get to photograph the wedding of a couple in a relationship for 39 years! They are an incredibly sweet couple still looking at each other with the eyes of young love. Catherine and Vincent decided to tie the knot in a hotel in central London. Their intimate wedding, on the roof top terrace of the Ham Yard Hotel was very elegant yet full of joy and laughter. Relaxed weddings are my favourite to photograph, the bride, the groom, the guests are being themselves and that’s when you get to capture the best memories.
Enjoy this unique wedding!
