Elegant, heartfelt wedding photography at one of Bordeaux's most beautiful château venues

Château Gassies is one of the most gorgeous wedding venues to get married in Bordeaux. It feels like stepping into a magical time and place that makes everyone slow down and wonder at its beauty.

Perched above Bordeaux with magnificent views across the countryside, it offers everything destination couples getting married in France dream about: elegant architecture, beautiful gardens, luxurious accommodation and enough space for an entire wedding weekend without ever feeling overwhelming.

I've had the privilege of photographing several weddings at Château Gassies over the years. And every visit reminds me why couples from the UK, the US and across Europe choose it for such an important celebration.

Bilingual.
French & English.

As a bilingual French and English wedding photographer, I naturally move between both cultures throughout the day. I can chat with your French caterer one minute, help your English-speaking guests the next, and quietly document everything in between in an unobtrusive way.

If you're planning a wedding at Château Gassies, you'll already have chosen an extraordinary venue. My role is simply to make sure your photographs feel just as special.

Knowing a venue isn't just about remembering where the ceremony and wedding breakfast usually take place. It's also knowing every side of this Lebanese Cedar tree or which one is the nicest corner that becomes quiet when you need ten minutes alone together.

Because I've photographed weddings there several times, I don't spend the morning figuring the venue out. I catch up with the owners who I've known for decades (that's a story for another time!), I chat with the staff to know the ins and outs of your day. Nicole from Petillante Weddings, Arthur from Deval Traiteur and Ludivine from LP Floral Designer are amongst other suppliers I also know personally. So since the logistics are sorted quickly, I'm already thinking about moments.

That means less time experimenting and more time noticing the things that actually matter.

Destination weddings
have their own pace.

Because they involve families travelling from different countries, languages overlapping and the timelines often being more relaxed. Also emotions often run even deeper because everyone has travelled so far to be there — you know they really want to celebrate this special occasion with you.

Being of African roots, having grown up in France before making London my home over two decades ago, I navigate cultures naturally. I switch between French and English throughout the day, making communication effortless for couples, families and suppliers alike. Over the years I've photographed weddings bringing together British, French, Nigerian, Ghanaian, American, Indian, Jewish, Muslim, Chinese, Caribbean and many other cultures.

Every celebration has its own traditions, priorities and family dynamics. Rather than treating these as something exotic, I see them as one of the greatest privileges of this job. Understanding those traditions means I know when to step back, when to anticipate an important moment, and when a seemingly small gesture carries enormous meaning for the people involved. The result is photography that feels authentic because nothing important was lost in translation.

A photographer who understands destination weddings

“We absolutely LOVE the photos!!! They are amazing and perfectly capture the most magical day of our life! Going through the photos for the first time made us very emotional. It felt like reliving that day and reminded us of how beautiful it was and how well surrounded and loved we are. Every time we go through them again, we notice something different, fall in love with a different photo, and are transported back to our wedding all over again. We are filled with gratitude.”
